Just months ago it was all doom and gloom for the faithful Arsenal supporters with "wenger-out" banners all over. Being trophy less for just under a decade, then to add insult to injury year after year they kept losing their best players. Oh how times have changed. Smarting top of the English Premier League (EPL) unbeaten in 9 games (8 wins and 1 draw), it sure is good to be a Gunner.
Spend £42.5 million on a player and he takes to the EPL like a duck to water. Visiting Old Trafford in high spirits and rightfully so, they are undoubtedly the team to beat this season. Wenger's chargers can go 11 points clear of United with a win and their win in mid-week vs Borussia Dortmund is just what the doctor ordered.
Arsenal FC face an Old Trafford in transition but they do seem to be hitting their straps at just the right time. David Moyes is having his richest run of form with a 8 game unbeaten run as well as winning his first back to back league games since he took over from SAF. United have been creating chances but converting them into goals have been their achilles heel which is exactly what happened in their 0-0 draw vs Real Sociedad in mid-week. A win come Sunday might just be the result to kick start their campaign which in all honestly hasn't been what the Old Trafford supporters have not quite been used to in the past 24 years.
Players to look out for Arsenal
Ramsey in the form of his life after adding goals to his repertoire makes him the man of the moment. Ozil is just pure class, composure and his presence has single handedly lifted the young guns to their lofty log position.
Giroud seems to know just where the net is and is finding it more regularly too.
Players to watch out for Manchester United
Rooney is in top form and is burning to get out at Old Trafford against the Gunners, his experience and skill let alone his vision makes him United's most lethal asset.
Van Persie is in a lean goal scoring form but there is nothing like welcoming your former employers to your new home to spur you on.
Januzaj, Manchester United's Player of the Month in September and the talk of Manchester, Belgium and even England, was given his chance and his scintillating performances have kept him in Moyes plans.
The longest serving manager(current) in the EPL will know all too well all runs come to an end and the latest Manchester United manager will hope that happens this Sunday. You will remember the last time the Gunners came to Manchester with a record run... the rest as they say is history.
That's just why I'm not Gunner say I told ya so!
