Last year mid September Brendan Rogers Swansea team had five points from their first five fixtures, this term his Liverpool team has only two points in their first four fixtures and this Sunday lunch time he welcomes Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United team to Anfield.
Not the fixture of choice for Rogers Liverpool team, but knowing Liverpool they will bring their best performance of the season against United (like every season) they always do. A good thing for Rogers is that his troops won’t need any motivation for a “must win” fixture in all honesty.
It could be a hum-dinger and the knowledge that the last time United came away with all three points at Anfield was way back in December 2007 when Carlos Tevez tapped in a parried Wayne Rooney strike just before half time, a stat I only looked up thanks to @Red_Rants #WinAUnitedShirt Twitter competition (which runs till just before kick off on Sunday I might add). We can all agree that’s just way to long ago.
For United it’s arguably the best time to visit their arch rivals home ground but when have the Merseysiders form ever played a part in this fixture. This time last year Liverpool came off back to back defeats against Stoke 1-0 and 4-0 to a Harry Redknapp led Spurs team and that day Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel saw red. So September hasn’t been kind to Liverpool FC (hash tag sarcasm).
In recent seasons to be frank I would’ve been happy with a point at Anfield because well they really are a different proposition when they play United. On the contrary this season a draw would just not be enough. Especially with the quality of the English Premier League (EPL) teams on offer. A Team can no longer settle for a draw and expect to just make it up again when you play a small team, as there are no longer small teams that the so called “big teams” can just pick off when their rivals face each other.
The "new look" Manchester United haven’t hit the ground running by any stretch of the imagination they started last season winning their first five fixtures. Now they sitting second on the EPL log and anything less than a win come Sunday and they could find themselves 7th come Monday morning. Again that shows the quality and competitiveness of the EPL and underlines them having the tag of being The Best League in The World. (i.e. besides the money of course)

I don’t have anything to say about the racism-handshake-chants (all in one) because I love the soccer and discussing it in this platform would just be encouraging it, at least in my opinion it would.
..
I can tell you this, I'm looking forward to Super Sunday and so should you. I hope it’s a NOT so Welcome to Anfield for Mr. Rogers and his chargers.
