To Manchester the Title

The pendulum has swung in the reds favour, only 10 to go Fergie!!!!!!!!
This time last season 9 points separated Sir Alex men from Roberto Mancini's chargers, but both teams this season are 10 or more points better off. Manchester United had 60 points with 10 games remaining and went on to win 6 draw 2 and lose 2 of them to end the season with 80 points and Manchester City had 51 points with 10 games remaining they went on to win 7 and lost 3. Interestingly enough if both teams emulate these results this season each would be on 87 and
"To Manchester the Title" on goal difference.

Here is a look at the run in from my point of view, one things for sure, Champions elect will be Mancunian.

Manchester United
18 March Wolverhampton Rovers (A) Manchester United Actual score 5-0 W
Most would think for the in form reds this is a easy three points and even though its at the Molineux, I tend to agree.

Manchester City
21 March Chelsea (H) Manchester City Actual score 2-1 W
Chelsea have had enough woes this season and then they have to go to the Etihad next, they have the quality in their squad to salvage something in Manchester but more realistically they will come away with nothing.

Manchester City
24 March Stoke City (A) Actual score 1-1 D
Though City are fortunate to have a big superstar squad Roberto Mancini will find out that at the back end of the season two games in three days is a tough ask in its own but to go to a sold out Britannia Stadium & a well disciplined Tony Pulis side could get a result against the would be champions. Add a point for a draw.

Manchester United
26 March Fulham FC (H) Actual score 1-0 W
In December at Craven Cottage the reds ran away with a 5-0 drubbing (Welbeck, Nani, Giggs, Rooney & Berbatov all on the score sheet)  and you can be assured the in form Fulham will have that in the back of their minds. Martin Jol would like nothing more than denting Sir Alex men's title challenge, though it won't be that one sided, United should have enough to take all three at Old Trafford.
3 points to SAF 73

Manchester City
31 March Sunderland (H) Actual score 3-3 D
The Etihad has been somewhat of a fortress and though Sunderland under Matin O'NeaI are doing well, truth be told they have been fighting above their weight. I hope I'm wrong but City to take all three points.

Manchester United
2 April Blackburn (A) Actual score 2-0 W
The last time United graced Ewood Park they sealed their 19th Title but no one likes to go to Blackburn, much less United and then so close to the end of the season aswell.
Blackburn scored two at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture and they and Arsenal are the only two to have done so in the the Premier League (8-2) this season (besides Crystal Palace, Basel, Benfica & Ajax but that's in Europe and the Carling Cup) so Sir Alex knows the threat they pose. Blackburn might not win but lets be honest a draw is not a bad result for both teams.

Manchester United
8 April  Queens Park Rangers (H) Actual score 2-0 W
Sir Alex Ferguson comes across Sparky again and Hughes has yet to get one over United as a manager, long may that continue. United at Old Trafford to take all three.
3 points to SAF 77 (79)

Manchester City
8 April Arsenal (A) Actual score 1-0 L
A resurgent Arsenal and a red hot Robin Van Persie at the Emirates make for an entertaining affair. On paper there can only be one winner but Mr Wenger might have something to say about that, and with fourth place beckoning, I expect a win for the Gunners.
0 points to Mancini 73 (71)

Manchester United
11 April Wigan Athletic (A) Actual score 1-0 L
Wigan have the worst home record in the Premier League amassing only 9 points from a possible 42 and to add insult to injury have a negative 13 goal difference. I expect United to make up their inferior goal difference to City in this game but a win would suffice.
3 points to SAF 80 (79)

Manchester City
11 April West Brom (H) Actual score 4-0 W
Roy Hodgens team got a credible draw at home in December but I can't see them shutting out City again not in Manchester. City to win.
3 points to Mancini 76 (74)

Manchester City
14 April Norwich (A) Actual score 6-1 W
Norwich got hammered 5-1 at the Etihad in early December, though I expect them to lose I don"t think it would be by 4... maybe by 3.
3 points to Mancini 79 (77)

Manchester United
15 April Aston Villa (H) Actual score 4-0
Alex McLeish side are not the same without Darren Bent, yes their form has improved but at Old Trafford I can't see them stopping the Red Machine marching on.
3 points to SAF 83 (82)

Manchester City
22 April Wolves (A) Actual score 2-0
Wolves can expect to be beaten well, if not then just beaten. Tis "Squeaky Bum time" and City will squeak to within one point of United.
3 points to Mancini 82 (80)

Manchester United
30 April Manchester City (A)
What would be important for United is still being top when they walk out at the Etihad pitch as you wouldn't want to HAVE to win against your cross town rivals. That just might have change my initial thoughts of a draw and now I'm going for a counter attacking win for United.
3 points to SAF 86

Manchester City
30 April Manchester United (H)
City will have to win this one and I think that could, should & would play in the hands of the hands of the visiting reds. Mancini will know Sir Alex Ferguson will settle for a draw and take his chances with the remaining two fixtures to seal yet another title.

Manchester United
6 May Swansea (H)
Manchester United will be relieved they do not have to travel to Wales for this fixture as City can detest. That doesn't mean Swansea won't put up a good fight. They will though be preparing for next season in the English Premier League. United have enough incentive at Old Trafford to go out and take all three and hence be crowned CHAMPIONS (at home for a change) and
make that 20 English League Trophies and more of this http://bit.ly/zjfQQV
3 points to SAF 89

Manchester City
6 May Newcastle (A)
City should win maybe just with the hope of United maybe slipping up at Old Trafford spurring them on.
3 points to Mancini 85

Manchester United
13 May Sunderland (A)
Champions Manchester United will be in a celebratory mood and the match might just have a more meaning the home side. Sir Alex will accept a draw
1 points to SAF 90

Manchester City (H)
13 May Queens Park Rangers
As I said last season an inconsequential day, with United wrapping up the league on the penultimate weekend. Besides City winning and taking second place Spurs & Arsenal will wrap up the remaining Champions League places.
3 points Mancini 88

That's my view, let it be.

What happens if Manchester United win the Europa League & finish in the top four?

Due to Champions League qualification clubs are now looking more favourably at the Europa League competition.  So Manchester United will naturally be gunning for glory as they take on Celta Vigo in their semi final.   If however, they win the tournament and finish the English Premier League in the top four, England will have just the four teams in Europe’s elite competition. What I find more interesting is if Manchester United win the Europa League and finish outside the top four! Should this scenario occur, England will have FIVE entrants to the Champions League, rather than four – with United joining the top four Premier League clubs.   There are a host of different scenarios as to who will be in Europe's second tier next season. For starters, the Premier League's fifth-placed club - should United not win the Europa League AND finish outside the top four - will go into the pot.   Then there's the EFL Cup - or League Cup - winners... however that tournament w

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp : "Apart from the table, it's a very important game. I know about the history, I like the special stories. The whole world will watch this game, it's a big honour to be part of it. "At the end, it's up to us to perform to our best. You cannot and should not ignore the special circumstance of a game like this. You have to be ready. "They have big quality and we have to respect this, as we do. But this is Anfield. We have to show this. We have had a few nice atmospheres but I'm open for the best atmosphere. We need everybody in a Liverpool shirt in this game." Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on concerns over disrespectful chanting at the game: "In football we have some football tragedies, if you can say that, which is a big match that you lost, the mistake that some player did, this kind of thing, and you can make fun of it in a positive way. "But the human tragedy i

The Premier League changes its logo.

The most lucrative football league in the world, The English Premier League (EPL), yesterday unveiled its new official logo, which will be used from the 2016-17 season onwards. The division's lion icon has been the face of England's top flight since its launch in 1992 but has undergone a makeover to give it a fresh, modern look. It means, EPL is ending its 12-year association with Barclays bank and will from now on be known simply as ‘the Premier League’. The new logo – has a crowned lion’s head gazing to the right, accompanied by either the words ‘Premier League’ or ‘PL’ -- will replace the current logo of a lion with its left paw on a football. All 20 clubs in the top flight have also agreed a new centralised sponsorship strategy, meaning the league will no longer have a named sponsor. “From next season we will move away from title sponsorship and the competition will be known as the Premier League, a decision which provided the opportunity to consider how we wanted
