Super Rugby Final Six

So it all comes down to six teams, one trophy and interestingly enough two teams from each nation of the Tri Nations. The table topping Reds and the unpredictable Waratahs from Australia, the Second placed Stormers and the strangely inconsistent Sharks from South Africa and the Blues and the Crusaders from New Zealand make up the final two places; nothing needs to be said about them.
So I got a few pundits together to give there predictions of who will be the last team standing come the 9th July 2011.
First we have Aldrin Adams, MWEBs "Sales Consultant of the year" a staunch Blues supporter predicts this weekends games. Blues to win especially because they at home and he predicts a Crusaders win in New Zealand. As for the Semi Final if his prediction is correct then, well the Blues will have to beat the Stormers in Cape Town. As for the final anything can happen, but I have a funny suspicion he expects his Blues to be crowned Champions. Which would be a mean feat considering should they defeat the Cape side they would have to fly all the way back to New Zealand or Australia and beat the Saders or Reds at home.

Gradwill Pool, respected Educator and "Pioneer" in the Afrikaans Department not just at Gardens Commercial High but in many education circles in the Western Cape Education Department (WCED). An avid Blue Bulls Supporter, but as for his predictions he does feel the Waratahs stand a good chance against a good Blues team even if they playing away from home and also foresees an upset in New Zealand and lets be honest the Sharks team might be good enough on a good day to beat the Saders  but which Sharks performance can we expect, so it would be a surprise yet not implausible. And as for the Semi Final if his prediction is correct it would mean the Shark travel to Newlands and the Reds host the Tah's at home and he predicts the Sharks. . . and well yes he predicts the Sharks can defeat the Stormers and who would bet against him. That’s more important than the Final for this chap. (The Stormers losing)

Lastly Kirk Adams esteemed Human Resource Administrator of note and like myself is a Crusaders supporter he predicts a Crusaders win at home this weekend and next weekend in cape Town as well as the Blues to get the better of the Tahs in New Zealand he also predicts an all New Zealand final so according to him the Blues are good enough win in Australia twice.

Let me break down the two "quarter" finals Crusaders v Sharks in a wet rainy windy New Zealand I do agree with some pundits the Crusaders haven’t been as clinical in the last few weeks as they were early on in the season but they still have a squad of players on a different skill level than any team in world rugby and this without their inspirational captain Richie Mc Caw for most of the competition so despite the fact that they have a Dan carter and a tight five that in the 1st half of the Twickenham clash between the two sides totally dominated them, despite the trek they have to make to New Zealand after such a bruising encounter at Loftus less than a week ago, despite the possibility of physical and mental fatigue the Sharks selection of the new half back Frederic Michalak and Pat Lambie (if u remember he was out with an injured finger) does strengthen their team but they don’t really stand a chance and defeating the Saders in Nelson in weather New Zealand players grow up in and the returning of both Williams and Maitland would be one of the upsets of the century in sport so if u ask me the saders will win by 15 points or more no question but a win will suffice.
Next the Blues vs. Waratahs fortunately for the Tahs they don’t have the travel obstacles that the Sharks face but unfortunately they do have some injury concerns u do not need in such an important fixture. In my opinion playing Kurtley Beale at fly half in place of Daniel Halangahu (injured) does weaken them as Beale seems to be constricted not having the time and space to penetrate the game line as he does so well from full back not to mention the scrum half, tight head prop and hooker  also missing due to injury so I cant see them performing as well as they did last week against the Brumbies. The Blues on the other hand are one inconsistent team and you never know what to expect, but one thing is for sure if Steven and Luke play well this weekend we might just see two New Zealand teams in the semi final of this years superugby season and you’d be a brave soul if you’d predict neither of them would go on to win it.

As for my predictions on the semi final clashes of saders v stormers at Newlands and Blues v reds in Australia you'll have to wait till next weeks post on my blog jcba sportsunited but have a look at this posts pic above and make up your own mind.

The Premier League changes its logo.

The most lucrative football league in the world, The English Premier League (EPL), yesterday unveiled its new official logo, which will be used from the 2016-17 season onwards. The division's lion icon has been the face of England's top flight since its launch in 1992 but has undergone a makeover to give it a fresh, modern look. It means, EPL is ending its 12-year association with Barclays bank and will from now on be known simply as ‘the Premier League’. The new logo – has a crowned lion’s head gazing to the right, accompanied by either the words ‘Premier League’ or ‘PL’ -- will replace the current logo of a lion with its left paw on a football. All 20 clubs in the top flight have also agreed a new centralised sponsorship strategy, meaning the league will no longer have a named sponsor. “From next season we will move away from title sponsorship and the competition will be known as the Premier League, a decision which provided the opportunity to consider how we wanted

Liverpool's Klopp host Jose's United

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp : "Apart from the table, it's a very important game. I know about the history, I like the special stories. The whole world will watch this game, it's a big honour to be part of it. "At the end, it's up to us to perform to our best. You cannot and should not ignore the special circumstance of a game like this. You have to be ready. "They have big quality and we have to respect this, as we do. But this is Anfield. We have to show this. We have had a few nice atmospheres but I'm open for the best atmosphere. We need everybody in a Liverpool shirt in this game." Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on concerns over disrespectful chanting at the game: "In football we have some football tragedies, if you can say that, which is a big match that you lost, the mistake that some player did, this kind of thing, and you can make fun of it in a positive way. "But the human tragedy i

Ronaldo keeps on winning - Fifa Best Player Award

Cristiano Ronaldo was named the world's best player at the inaugural Best Fifa Football Awards in Zurich. Real Madrid and Portugal forward Ronaldo, 31, beat Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann to the prize. Ronaldo also won the Ballon d'Or in December, with both honours recognition for success in the Champions League with Real and Euro 2016 with Portugal. 2016 was quite a year for Ronaldo. As well as scoring the decisive penalty in the shootout to win the Champions League, rescuing Real with a hat-trick in the final of the Club World Cup, captaining Portugal to Euro 2016 glory and being recognised with a fourth Ballon d'Or, he now has something Messi does not - the honour of being named best Fifa men's player. The former Manchester United forward had been the favourite for the award, following a year in which he continued to deliver. The stats don’t lie: 44 games, 42 goals, 14 assists. The third best minutes-per-goal
